What this quote is trying to say is that success doesn't happen on its own it happens with the actions you do day by day. You cant do nothing in life and expect to be successful. If you choose to be successful and work for it then you will be successful. If you don't and you choose to be lazy and not do anything with your life you will be a failure and not achieve anything in life. You get what you give in.
