What this quote means to me is that if you don't have your life planned out and don't know what your goals are then you wont get far in life. In order to get far in life you need to have goals planned out for you. If you don't then you wont get very far in life. In the quote it mentions the goalpost so football players know where they are aiming for and where to go. Our goals in life are like goalposts that lead us in the directions we need to go. If you want to be a doctor that is your goal and you can set that as your main goal and work hard everyday to be able to achieve it.
